Following Jesus
in a world longing
for good news

Love

We hunger for love that is real and brave.
This Lent and Easter season, we will journey through love stories told by John, following Jesus as he confronts despair with truth, hope, and a love that refuses to let fear and hatred win.

Worship

Love That Knows Us by Name

John 10:1–18

Ash Wednesday

February 18, 2026

6:00 pm

On Ash Wednesday we begin our Lenten journey by listening to the voice of the Good Shepherd, the one who knows us by name and calls us into life. As we receive ashes, we are reminded of our humanity, yet we are also reminded that we are deeply loved and held by God.

Love That Refuses to Let Death Win

John 11:1–44

First Sunday of Lent

February 22, 2026

9:00 am

This Sunday we witness Jesus calling Lazarus out of the tomb, revealing a love that refuses to let death and despair have the final word. Jesus invites us to meet human sorrow with our presence and our compassion so that all may walk in freedom and hope.

Love That Kneels
to Serve

John 13:1–17

Second Sunday of Lent

March 1, 2026

9:00 am

In a culture that often prizes status and self-promotion, Jesus shows that true greatness is found in tender, embodied care for one another. This humble act encourages us to become a community shaped by self-giving love, where power is used to lift up rather than dominate.

Love That Remains Faithful When We Fall Short

John 18:12–27

Third Sunday of Lent

March 8, 20269

9:00 am

The story of Peter’s denial of Jesus exposes the fear, shame, and weakness that can surface in us all, yet it also reveals a grace that refuses to abandon or condemn. This Sunday in worship, we acknowledge our own failures and fears, and we hear the Good News that Jesus continues to hold us with compassion.

Love That Tells
the Truth

John 18:28–40

Fourth Sunday of Lent

March 15, 2026

9:00 am

Before Pilate, Jesus refuses to conform to the violent logic of empire by exposing injustice. Christ’s bold truth-telling invites us to discern what it means to live truthfully in a world marked by misinformation and fear. When we embody a truth that is rooted in love, we find  God’s liberation.

Love That Bears the Weight of Injustice

John 19:1–16a

Fifth Sunday of Lent

March 22, 2026

9:00 am

In his own suffering, Jesus stands with all who are abused, marginalized, or silenced, and reveals God’s presence in the midst of pain. The church is invited to stand with those who suffer today, trusting that God is near and that love remains stronger than the forces that seek to destroy.

Holy Week

Love That Surrenders to Bring New Life

John 12:12–27

Palm Sunday

March 29, 2026

9:00 am

As Jesus enters Jerusalem, the crowds rejoice with hope, yet Jesus speaks of a grain of wheat that must fall into the earth and die in order to bear much fruit. This paradox prepares us for the mystery of Holy Week, where surrender becomes the path to life.

Love That Gives Everything

Maundy Thursday Agape Feast

April 2, 2026

5:00 pm

At this simple meal, we remember that Jesus forms a community bound together by love, generosity, and mutual care. This service invites us to reflect on the meaning of giving ourselves for the sake of others and to embody a love that nourishes and sustains.

Good Friday Choral Presentation

April 3, 2026

6:00 pm

Covenant Choir and soloists, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble, will present Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in observance of Good Friday. The service will be held at BCOC on Friday, April 3 at 6:00 pm. We encourage you to invite your friends and neighbors.

Love That Calls Us into a New Beginning

John 20:1–18

Easter Sunday

April 5, 2026

9:00 am

When Jesus speaks Mary Magdalene’s name, she recognizes the living Christ and becomes the first witness to the resurrection. In this resurrection story, we witness a love that cannot be extinguished, a love that calls each of us into new life and renewed purpose. Today we celebrate the Good News that love always leads to new life.

Lenten Education

Throughout the season of Lent, we invite you to experience God’s grace through various activities and outings. Each unique experience will be tied to a Lenten theme.

Lent Devotionals for Families

Create a Lent Devotional Bag together as a family!

Decorate your bag, fill it with words to help lead reflection, and then pull a word out each day and talk about it as a family. Pick up supplies on the table in the Fellowship Hall beginning on Ash Wednesday.

Lent Devotional Calendars

Create a Lent Devotional Calendar!

There are two ways to use the calendar. One is to write the name of someone you are praying for in each section each day. The other option would be to write Scripture passages or references in each section each day. You can color and decorate these calendars as you use them for prayer and reflection. Pick up the calendar sheets from the table in the Fellowship Hall. Adults you can use these as well!

Stations of the Cross

Friday, April 3 at 1:00 pm

Stations of the Cross will be set up in the Fellowship Hall on Good Friday.

You can come by the building, beginning at 1:00 pm, and walk through these self-led stations. The stations will remain open for use for one hour following the Choral Presentation of the Good Friday Requiem. Coloring sheets to accompany the stations will also be available.
